Pants come in many different styles, shapes, and sizes, and there is a style of pants to suit every taste and fashion.
With so much variety, learning to draw pants can be a fun way to envision what your perfect pair of pants might look like.
How to Draw Pants
Step 1
The pants we will draw in this pants drawing guide will be a pair of jeans, as this is one of the most popular pants worldwide.
We take it from above when drawing the opening of the pants. This pants part may look simple enough, but we must consider some details.
First, draw the middle of the pants by drawing two thin rectangular shapes connecting.
However, these forms have clearances at the outer edges. Then after leaving a very small gap, you can draw a long thin shape on either side.
This forms the hem of the trousers, and the small gap is soon filled with a belt loop.
Finally, use some rounded lines for the top of the pockets and then draw a final line on top of the shapes you just drew for the back of the top of the pants.
Step 2
In this next step, we will build on what you drew in the previous section of your pants design.
First, we’ll fill in the small gaps you left using curved lines to create the belt loops.
After drawing, we’ll then add the flap for the pants. This is drawn with a few more curved lines to create the thin shape you see in our reference image.
The last thing we draw in this step is a button for the top of the pants opening.
Step 3
In this third step of our tutorial on how to draw pants, we will add pants a lot of.
For the most part, we’re going to focus on the sides of the pants, and you can draw those sides of the pants with some slightly jagged lines.
We’re also going to extend some straight lines in the pants, and these will work as crease lines for pants.
The lower legs for the pants will be blank for now, but we’ll be filling those gaps soon.
Step 4
You can now finish the pants’ outline in this drawing step.
We said that in the final step, you would darn the bottoms of the pant legs, and that’s what we’re going to do here.
You can complete these pieces by drawing the last flat section of the pant legs. Other folds that extend into the pants are also drawn.
Then the next step is all about the final details and the finishing touches!
Step 5
Before we color your picture, in this step of our tutorial on how to draw pants, we must first add some details and finishing touches.
These details are small but effective in making these pants look more realistic. The first detail goes in the pocket on the left; you can draw it with small straight lines and colons.
The final touch is to add a few more wrinkles to the pants. You could add more wrinkles if you want the pants to look even more distressed!
Before proceeding to the last step, you can add some details and elements.
You can draw someone wearing pants, create a background or even change the details to give them a different style of pants!
Step 6
For this last step of your pants design, you can finish it off by coloring your creation! In our reference image, we used some shades of blue to emphasize further that these pants have the style of jeans.
However, this does not limit you to the same shades; you can use any color you love to create your unique pants design.
However, your choice of color is only half the battle, and you can also achieve some color complexity with your chosen artistic means.
